Trump Praises Husted's 'Powerful Ass' In New Oval Office Video

President Trump released a new video on Wednesday showing him in the Oval Office praising the physical attributes of Senate candidate Jon Husted. In the clip, the president repeated his assessment that Husted possesses a "great ass" and a "very powerful ass," adding that the Ohio Republican has strong shoulders, hands, and arms.

Trump asserted that his public remarks about Husted's physique caused a 12 point jump in the candidate's ratings. He stated that he told people they did not previously know these facts about Husted's body. The president has maintained this specific focus on Husted since first mentioning the topic at a rally earlier in the week.

At that rally, Trump described Husted's body as a "pile of muscle." He has referenced the comment repeatedly since then. The praise stands out against a general trend of the president commenting on the handsomeness and specific body parts of various men, a habit CNN's Anderson Cooper documented in a video compilation last week.

Husted is currently competing in a tight race against former Senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio. The latest polling data shows Brown with a slight lead. None of the recent surveys indicate the sudden and dramatic swing in numbers that Trump suggests his comments have produced.

The president's physical assessments are not uniformly positive across all his allies. He recently told Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, his chosen Senate candidate, that he was unsure about Paxton's look, dress, and speech. Despite these critiques, Trump has consistently praised Paxton for his loyalty.
