Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton will sit out upcoming games after suffering a left hamstring strain. The 26-year-old player was initially listed as questionable for the Wednesday match against the Philadelphia 76ers due to tightness and soreness in the same muscle group.

Haliburton had just begun to find his rhythm upon returning to the court. During the first four games of the 2026-27 season, he averaged 21.8 points, 9.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds while playing 33 minutes per night. His latest performance came in Monday's 110-102 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he tallied 22 points, nine assists, and six rebounds.

This injury interrupts a long recovery period. Haliburton missed the entire 2025-26 season while healing from a ruptured right Achilles tendon. That injury occurred during Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The team had hoped his return would reinvigorate the roster after a year of inactivity.

Pacers doctors and Haliburton are currently gathering information to establish a clear timeline for his return. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the team expects the guard to miss time, though a specific date has not yet been set. The medical staff is still evaluating the severity of the strain.

The absence creates immediate depth issues for Indiana. The team already entered Wednesday's game with injuries affecting guards T.J. McConnell and Andrew Nembhard. With Haliburton out, the remaining backcourt players must carry a larger share of the offensive load as the season progresses.
