Rep. Ro Khanna announced he will appear on Fox News this Sunday to discuss the Iran conflict. The California Democrat made the announcement on X on Friday in response to President Donald Trump’s criticism of his recent media appearances. Khanna said he would share his thoughts on how the war has increased gas and food prices for American consumers.

The exchange follows a midterms rally in Daytona, Florida, where Trump took issue with the network giving airtime to a Democratic opponent. Trump called Khanna a "total dope" and a "radical left loser." The president stated he was unhappy to see Khanna on television while he was campaigning in the same state. Trump also claimed Khanna was upset because he had removed the nuclear threat from Iran.

Khanna had appeared on Fox & Friends earlier on Friday. During that segment, he criticized the administration's handling of the Iran war and discussed the possibility of impeachment proceedings. This appearance was part of a series of media engagements. He also appeared on Fox News last week to discuss global wealth inequality and riots in France.

The conflict has cost the U.S. government an estimated $47 billion. Trump defended this figure to reporters on Friday. He also labeled Khanna a "lightweight" for his criticisms. Khanna responded by suggesting the funds be used for jobs and childcare instead. He noted that his voters wanted the president to avoid war.

Khanna has been a vocal critic of the administration's foreign policy. He spearheaded the release of government files related to Jeffrey Epstein. He has also condemned the administration's support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid the ongoing war in Gaza. His comments tie the military spending directly to domestic economic pressures.

Trump faces low approval ratings as the affordability crisis deepens. Several Republican lawmakers and supporters have expressed concern that Democrats could win majorities in both chambers of Congress. The midterm elections are scheduled for Tuesday. Khanna's final post on the matter urged viewers to watch his Sunday appearance if the president took a break from golf and discussing oil profits.

The president continued his campaign activities in Florida on Friday. He used the rally to address the media coverage of the war. Khanna’s team released the government files earlier this month. The two politicians have clashed repeatedly on social media regarding the economic fallout of the Iran conflict.
