Rainfall probabilities for the Sarasota and Manatee area will reach 80% on Sunday, according to the WWSB First Alert Weather Team. This sharp increase in precipitation marks a distinct shift from the dry conditions observed earlier in the week.
Friday is expected to remain mostly sunny with highs near the upper 80s. Breezy conditions will persist, though the possibility of isolated rain showers exists during the late afternoon hours.
The weather pattern changes on Saturday, which begins partly sunny. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop after 2 p.m. The chance of rain for that day is 30%, with temperatures reaching the upper 80s. Wind gusts may reach 26 mph.
Sunday presents the most significant weather risks. Showers and thunderstorms are possible throughout the entire day. Highs will cool to the lower 80s, and breezy conditions will continue. Residents will also set their clocks back one hour in the early morning to end daylight saving time.
Meteorologists advise those with outdoor plans to prepare an indoor backup, particularly for Sunday events. Conditions are projected to improve by Monday when rain chances drop to 30%. Sunshine is expected to return by Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the mid-80s.
The National Hurricane Center currently reports no expected developments that will impact the region this weekend.
