113 drones were intercepted over Voronezh and its surrounding districts during the night of October 25 and 26, according to local authorities. The high volume of aerial targets indicates a coordinated effort to saturate regional air defense systems while striking key industrial assets.
Ukrainian open source intelligence channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+ identified two specific industrial facilities as the primary objectives of the raid. The Voronezhsintezkauchuk plant, a subsidiary of the Sibur group, produces synthetic rubbers and polymer materials. The second target was the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association, or VASO, which operates under the Ilyushin Aviation Complex division of the United Aircraft Corporation. VASO manufactures aviation components and produces the Ilyushin Il-96 jet airliner.
Governor Aleksandr Gusev confirmed to Interfax that fires broke out at several industrial businesses in the region. In his initial official statement, he did not name the specific companies involved. Gusev described the incidents as having no significant consequences, a characterization that differs from the extensive damage reported by local media and independent observers.
The impact of the attack extended beyond the industrial sector. Gusev reported fires at a business center, an apartment building, two dacha settlements, a school stadium, and a garage cooperative. Damage to building facades and windows was recorded in nearly every district of the city, indicating widespread effects from blast debris.
Russian media outlet Astra provided specific locations for the impacts. A drone struck the Galereya Chizhova business center at 35A Koltsovskaya Street, an event captured on video. Explosions were also identified near residential buildings at 52A 25th Yanvarya Street and 4K Arkhitektora Troitskovo Street. At the Uritsky residential complex on 135 Uritskovo Street, additional damage was documented. A car park on 275/1 45th Strelkovoy Divizii Street saw at least ten vehicles catch fire.
Residents reported hearing explosions and air defense operations for over an hour. The city remained shrouded in smoke throughout the engagement. Astra noted that no formal air-raid warning was issued to the public before the strikes began. Local authorities are currently assessing the full extent of the damage to both public and private property.
