108 high school football games are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6, as the CIF-SS launches the first round of its playoffs. The matchups span 14 divisions and take place at 7 p.m. local time, unless otherwise noted. These contests determine which teams advance to the second round.
The schedule includes high-profile local clashes. Orange plays Chaparral at home, while Tustin hosts San Juan Hills. In Division 2, Huntington Beach travels to Inglewood. Division 9 features La Salle at Fountain Valley and Ocean View at Lawndale. The full list of fixtures is available from the CIF-SS.
Some games will be played on different days or at neutral sites. Barstow and Pacifica meet on Thursday at Bolsa Grande High School. Costa Mesa and Rancho Alamitos also play at Bolsa Grande. Chaminade and Corona del Mar have not yet settled on a location. Desert Hot Springs and Sonora will also play at a site to be determined.
Division 1 is the only group that does not play on Friday. Those teams will begin their postseason run on Nov. 13. All other divisions, from 2 through 14, are active this week. The CIF-SS notes that dates, sites, and times are subject to change. Updates will be sent to the news desk for distribution.
The games include contests such as Westminster at Schurr in Division 11 and Irvine at Fillmore in Division 8. Division 6 sees Brea Olinda travel to Beaumont, while Fullerton heads to Santa Barbara. Garden Grove plays at Anaheim in Division 13. These results will set the stage for the next phase of the tournament.
