College football fans watching the AP Poll this week see a stable leader at the top but a chaotic shuffle below. Miami sits at No. 1, unchanged from last week, but the rest of the board moved sharply. Ohio State dropped to 11th. Florida fell to 25th. Georgia jumped to No. 2. These changes alter how fans and voters view the path to the College Football Playoff.

Miami earned 62 first-place votes in the Week 10 rankings. The Hurricanes remain undefeated. They have won every game they have played this season. The next test comes when they travel to Notre Dame. Notre Dame currently ranks No. 4. The game is a direct comparison between two top-five teams. A loss for either side would change the standings immediately.

The SEC saw its biggest movement in Florida. The Gators fell to No. 25 after dropping to a 5-3 record. Their defense showed weaknesses in recent games. Florida plays Oklahoma next. Georgia moved up to No. 2 after collecting seven first-place votes. Kentucky climbed to No. 8. Ole Miss and LSU sit just behind Kentucky in the conference rankings. Alabama remains in the top 10 despite early season struggles.

Ohio State’s drop to No. 11 follows an unexpected loss. The Buckeyes now must win their remaining regular-season games to stay relevant. Texas sits near the bottom of the top 10 after beating Mississippi State. The Big Ten conference lost a clear leader with Ohio State’s decline. Other teams in the conference are now competing for the remaining at-large bids.

Utah moved up to No. 3 after a strong offensive performance. The team received one first-place vote. BYU rose to No. 7. This gives their conference two teams in the top 10. UCLA remains undefeated in seven games and holds the No. 5 spot. UCLA faces a difficult schedule in late season. Notre Dame’s No. 4 ranking places them directly ahead of UCLA and behind Miami, Georgia, and Utah.

The current rankings show a tight race for the final playoff spots. Selection committees are looking at teams with multiple losses. Strength of schedule matters as much as win totals for these mid-tier programs. Miami’s status is secure for now, but the November schedule will test the rest of the field. The next poll release will show how these top teams handle their upcoming matchups.
