Ophir Falk, foreign policy adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, wrote to The Jerusalem Post on Monday to argue that Israel's government should be removed by the current US and Israeli leadership. He framed the upcoming election as a choice between leaders who can coordinate with Washington to achieve specific regional goals.
Falk stated that eliminating Iran's current government serves the interests of the United States, Israel, and the wider world. He identified the partnership between Trump and Netanyahu as the only team capable of executing this plan. According to Falk, the alliance has already demonstrated the necessary strength to accomplish this task.
The adviser positioned the October 27 election around the concept of coordination with the White House. He asked voters to consider who best supports the president's agenda to finish military and diplomatic objectives in the Middle East. Falk contrasted this approach with the goals of regional adversaries who prefer a different outcome in Jerusalem.
On Sunday evening, President Trump reinforced this message on Truth Social. He urged Israeli voters to support Netanyahu, stating that the two leaders must complete the work they began together. Trump described the situation as requiring a decisive vote to maintain the momentum of their joint efforts.
Falk noted that Israel's opponents, including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran, want Netanyahu to lose the election. He claimed the current alliance is at its strongest point while Iran and its proxies are at their weakest. This assessment reflects the strategic view Falk has presented in previous interviews.
In an October 15 interview, Falk said Israel is close to creating conditions for a change in Iran's leadership. He clarified that the final step remains with the Iranian people. His Monday remarks did not specify the methods the two countries would use or provide a schedule for removing the current Iranian government.
The written comments served as a campaign message for Netanyahu's camp. They emphasized the value of the US-Israeli relationship during the final two years of the current presidential term. The remarks were published one day before Israelis head to the polls.
