The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 on Sunday, handing the visiting team its fifth loss of the season. The defeat leaves Indianapolis with a 2-6 record and extends a 12-game losing streak at EverBank Stadium. The last time the Colts won at this venue was in 2014.

The loss follows a turbulent week for the Colts. On Thursday, the team traded offensive lineman Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. The Colts reportedly rejected a trade offer that centered on a second-round draft pick for their star running back, Jonathan Taylor. Taylor remains the highest-profile player on the roster, having earned three Pro Bowl selections.

Taylor struggled against the Jaguars, gaining 23 yards on eight carries. He also fumbled the ball on a failed trick play. He is the last player to rush for more than 100 yards against Jacksonville, a feat he achieved in the 2024 regular-season finale. Rumors have linked the three-time Pro Bowler to the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings, both of whom currently lead their respective divisions.

The Jaguars controlled the game from the first quarter. Trevor Lawrence completed three touchdown passes. Bayshul Tuten scored two touchdowns, and Rayuan Lane returned an interception 92 yards for a score with 10 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Jacksonville built a 28-0 lead by halftime, marking the third-largest halftime margin in franchise history.

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones was replaced by Anthony Richardson in the fourth quarter. Jones completed 19 of 28 passes for 144 yards before throwing two interceptions. His only touchdown came on a pass to Josh Downs. The Jaguars have beaten the Colts in Jacksonville even during their weakest seasons, including a 1-15 campaign in 2020 and two seasons with only three wins.

The Colts will host the Dallas Cowboys at home next week. Team officials have not confirmed whether Taylor will play in that matchup.
